Celje is also the educational center of the Savinjska region. The municipality includes 10 elementary and 12 high schools, of which three are gymnasiums and other are vocational schools. Celje also has a school of music offering elementary and secondary education. In addition to a wide range of high schools, graduate programs and colleges have seen rapid development in the recent years. The advantage of these programs is that they have been established as a direct response to the requirements of the environment and thus provide specialized knowledge that the students would not have been able to obtain elsewhere. Celje is investing heavily into the development of graduate education. Both effort and funds are being allocated to establish graduate education organizations and to provide adequate conditions for their work. It is our goal to eventually found a university in Celje. |
