The World of Art magazine in Gaziantep      In the beginning of April we opened an exhibition of awarded art works of international competitions of The World of Art magazine on themes "Horse" and "Still life", by authors up to 20 years, in Turkish city Gaziantep. The fact that information about the grand opening was published in 16 newspapers and on several TV stations also indicates the enormous interest for this exhibition. The opening of the exhibition was organized by Mizyal Art Center under the leadership of academic painter Mizyal Karabiber Nacaroglu. Mr. Mitja Štrukelj, the ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, came to the grand opening all the way from 700 kms distant Ankara. The exhibition of young talented artists from 45 countries was opened by Turkish governor Süleymon Kamci and mayors of city Gaziantep Asim Güzelbey and Őmer Can. Among several guests at the grand opening there was also Hilmi Akinal, first award winner of the International competition on theme "Exile and Banishment" in the age group up to 10 years, who personally, escorted with his parents, attended the ceremony of granting the awards at the end of year 2006 in the gallery Ana in Sevnica, Slovenia. The exhibition found great interest among schools; therefore many schools visited the exhibition in the following days. This way young people's art works from The World of Art magazine's archive still live and breathe in galleries all over the world. |
