TEHERAN, IRAN
The Ceremony of Awarding the Iranian Awardees

From Nov. 25th to Dec. 7th, 2007 (I, Mihailo Lišanin, the leader of the Institution for Creative development of Young People and the international competition for artworks, made by authors to the age of 20), have been a guest of the Iranian awardees of my international competition. In the organization of the Slovene Embassy in Iran I also carried out the awarding ceremony of the Iranian awardees. The invitation to Iran was sent to me by Reza and Haleh, the parents of my awardee, Mahta EsmailPour Bazzaz. They were all guests of the solemn awarding ceremony in Celje in May of 2006.

To see all the natural and historical destinations of Iran a person would need a whole lifetime, but the hosts devoted all their time to their guest and they showed me the mandatory program for the entry into the history and the beauties of Iran, and this includes Yazd, Abyneh, Esfahan, Kashan, the salty dry lake and, of course, Teheran as well. The kindness of the hosts and the natives was a very nice introduction into the ceremony, which took place at the Embassy of Slovenia, where we granted the awards to the deserving awardees for their artworks. The organization of the ceremony and the granting of the awards were kindly taken care of by Mr. Matjaž Puc, the diplomatic agent in Teheran.

This trip of mine to the remote country of Iran has showed me the real value of this international competition for young people, what it is worth to the children and their parents from all over the world. The next piece of evidence is scheduled for the month of April of 2008, when I’ll be the guest of the Indian awardees in Bangalore, which is even further away than Iran. At this opportunity there will be an opening of the Indian gallery for young people on the model of the Gallery for Young people’s Art Works Celje.
