Exhibition of Wolf Mit's weapons and and Živa Dolenc's paintings    In Gallery of Young People's Art Works Celje we had an exhibition of two authors' (Wolf Mit and Živa Dolenc from Šešče pri Žalcu, Slovenia) artworks during 2nd of February and 10th of March, 2008. Wolf Mit contributed to the exhibition with his handmade trophy weapons and Živa Dolenc with her paintings and drawings. Nastja Lišanin contributed to better mood of all the present with her flute performance. Živa Dolenc is known by her passion for drawing and shaping. Protecting the nature and admiration of flowers, this is Živa Dolenc. She understands nature and flowers in her own way - different from all the others. Painting the promenades is her vital force. She introduced herself and her artworks to audience a few times at home and abroad. Even though her schedule is busy, she'd never give up her canvases and paints. She provocatively sets her mind to transform negative things into positive. She possesses the passion of self-taught painter and will power to present her artworks to her colleagues, friends and broader audience. The ancient saying that the "soul is in search of another soul" is clear enough. Creating for one's soul is something that strengthens the soul and invigorates it with firm and real life path. Wolf Mit used to play the "Indians and Cowboys game" ever since he was a little boy. He was brought up by his grandmother and the walls in his room in her house were all decorated with plenty of weapons hanging from them. He wanted to become a soldier, and then officer and plenty of other things. But he discovered the meaning of his life just recently. He started making weapons which in times past enabled humans to be better hunters, to protect themselves and unfortunately also to make war. He is interested in metals which are full of corrosion. He uses written off metals and shapes them as old-time weapons and he's quite satisfied by the fact that the metal gains back its original meaning. As he says himself: "this hobby is real food for his soul". You won't see him come out of his workroom as long as he is forging and modeling.
