Artistic Language of Children from Kindergarten Šmarje pri Jelšah     On Tuesday, 1st of April, 2008 we had an opening of exhibition of children’s artworks from Kindergarten Šmarje pri Jelšah at our Gallery of Children’s Art Works Celje. They were our guests for the third time already. Headmaster Mrs. Marta Drofenik wrote the following text for this occasion: "Our wealth is measured only by our ability to recognize and cherish, to experience and comprehend the artworks of our young artists and in this way we have to stimulate their creativity and their critical outlook on the world around them. The kindergarten’s role in this is immense and in our Kindergarten Šmarje pri Jelšah we are aware of this fact. We know that children’s drawings are something that’s original, spontaneous, honest and unique. With this exhibition we wish to point out the declarative value of CHILDREN’S CREATIVITY and the importance of artistic expression for the holistic development of a child." The following children presented themselves in the cultural program: children from groups called Čebelice, Metulji, Čmrlji, Kresnice and children from rhythmics and choir activities. The exhibition was opened (as all the previous were) by the mayor of Šmarje pri Jelšah, Mr. Jože Čakš. |
