CELJE, SLOVENIA

 

On Sunday, 8.6.2008, after eight days ended in Celje 7th international graphic workshop on the subject of "Architecture of Celje". On the workshop participated academic graphic artists from the society of graphic artists "Albreht Durer" from Debrecen, Hungary: Tamus Istvan, Szilagyi Imre, Laszlo Janos, Szepessy Bela and from Slovenske Konjice, Slovenia Arpad Šalamon, renown graphic artist and pedagogue, who is also of Hungarian nationality. The organizer was always interested to see how invited graphic artists will take on the challenge of creating the graphics on the subject of architecture of the city which they will see and sense for the first time. The first impressions are always the strongest and at that time comes out the combination of the sense of sight and their own artistic form or their own artistic language. As a result, this year were created 30 new graphic, thirty experiences of architecture of Celje, enriched with the part of Hungarian architectural culture which graphic artist brought here in them. The collection of all graphics, created in seven years, includes 130 graphics from seven countries. Its artistic and expressional value shows also in that for the next year exhibitions are arranged in Turkey, Bulgaria and Hungary and in September they will begin a school year, with the exhibition of this graphics, on Academy of fine arts in Minsk, Belarus.

In the time of the workshop there was organized tour for the guests of the gallery Božidar Jakac in Kostanjevica na Krki, tour of Ljubljana, Maribor, Kamnik, Old castle Celje, Žička kartuzija, and a tour of collections from Institution for culture Slovenska Bistrica. In this way artists gain additional knowledge about culture, art and appearance of Slovenia which they visited for the first time. As all the years also this years graphic workshop was lead by founder and mastermind of international graphic workshop on the subject of "Architecture of Celje" Mihailo Lišanin, leader of Institution for Creative Development of Young People.
