Celje’s stars in Cuba

In cooperation with the Ministry of culture and education of Cuba and in the framework of 10th international biennale of art Havana 2009 visited Cuba for three weeks well-known painter Irena Polanec and the leader of international art competition for young people and The Gallery of Young People’s Art Works Celje, Mihailo Lišanin.  
They attended the grand opening of 10th international biennale of art in a mighty fortress from 16th century and visited the museum of Regla where Mihailo Lišanin presented, on a special ceremony, the diplomas to Cuban awardees of this year’s international competition from Celje. On the ceremony performed in cultural programme youth dance and music groups and at the same time they opened an exhibition of paintings of Cuban children. At the presence of museum collective, members of Ministry of culture and education of Cuba, many visitors and young artists Mihailo Lišanin was presented with a special diploma for his contribution in the field of cultural cooperation and promotion of young Cuban art talents. At great help on the ceremony was Jelena Živojinović, cultural attaché of Embassy of Republic of Serbia in Havana, a daughter of well-known actor Bata Živojinović. On an official reception at the Cuban Ministry of culture an agreement was made between the ministry and Mihailo Lišanin about bilateral promotion of culture of these two countries in European and Caribbean area.
Great distances are conquered, Celje’s stars on monograph of Celje and Counts of Celje and on Celje’s and Slovenian flag have become a permanent exhibit in the museum of Regla in Havana.
