First independent exhibition of Matej Jakomin
  
On Friday, January 16th, we opened in The Gallery of Young People’s Art Works Celje first independent exhibition of Matej Jakomin from Koper and at the same time we presented to the public more than 40 diplomas which has Mihailo Lišanin, founder and leader of the gallery, received for his work on promotion of fine arts culture among young people all over the world.
In cultural programme performed Nastja Lišanin and Iva Košir, both on flute, and there were also present two members of international jury from XIV. International competition of the magazine The World of Art on the subject of “Who am I?”, mgr. Malovany Irjo from Bratislava (Slovakia) and ac. painter Emil Sfera from Pančevo (Serbia).
Matej Jakomin was born in 1989 in Koper. He made first steps to fine arts in elementary school of Janko-Premrl Vojko in Koper at art pedagogue professor Ksenija Pfajfer. Till year 2008 he was visiting grammar school Koper, classical side, and then he transferred to Ljubljana to nursing school.
As youngster, not even 20 years old, he is interested in all the same things as other young people and also especially in fine arts, art history, poetry, psychology and nature.
Among other things he also collects books about fine arts, art history and poetry. He also expresses his personality trough paintings, drawings, poems, visiting of exhibitions and walks trough nature where he draws his inspiration for above mentioned activities. He also visited drawing classes in Art school Koper at academic sculptor Sašo Stevović. From year 2001 to 2005 he visited music school in Koper where he learned to play saxophone. He expressed his devotion to the community as a volunteer in a library of his elementary school and in grammar school, in a framework of social work, in a library of Srečko Vilhar Koper. Also now he works trough student service in University clinical centre on the Clinic for infectious diseases and fever conditions as an attendant to the patients. Young, brave, full of plans, dreams and love towards other people he expresses his yearnings, joy and pain on paper in his poemes or paintings. This is Matej Jakomin.
Beside the exhibition of young and upcoming artists Matej Jakomin we also presented a selection of artists from our archive that permanently made their mark in the history of fine arts in Slovenia and in the world. We presented the artworks of Božidar Jakac, Alojz Zavalovšek, Michael Close, Klavdijo Tutta, France Slana, Franci Mihelič, Jože Tisnikar…..
