At the Gallerry of young people’s art works Celje, we opened an exhibition of children’s artworks from The Kindergarten Šmarje pri Jelšah on the 18th of November 2009.
As the kindergarten principal Marta Drofenik pointed out, this is their 7th consecutive exhibition at our gallery and at the same time showed her gratitude for our exemplary cooperation in hope that it stays the same in the future. She also emphasized the meaning of cultural upbringing of children for their personal growth and their process of inclusion into our society.
The opening ceremony took place in the Union Hall at Celjski dom, where the mayor of Šmarje pri Jelšah, Jože Čakš, opened the exhibition. In his opening statement, he also stressed out the meaning of such events and arrangements for the cultural development of the youngest and thanked the gallery founder Mihailo Lišanin for the given opportunity of exhibiting in his gallery.
The opening ceremony was culturally enriched by dancing performances of the children from Kindergarten Šmarje pri Jelšah, the dancers of Plesni forum Celje in the choreography of Goga Stefanović Erjavec and the veterans of Celje folklore group.
The event, directed by Vladimira Skale, carried within itself yet another, deeper message, as it coincided with the celebration of a 60 years jubilee of Mihailo Lišanin, the founder and leader of both the Gallery of young people’s art works and the Institution for creative development of young people. He stayed loyal to his principals and guidelines of cooperation with the youngest, whom he devoted the last 20 years of his life, and decided to organize his celebration alongside the exhibition opening.
All the abovementioned thanked him in their opening addresses for his work in the area of art culture and the education of the youngest from Slovenia and the world.  He received many awards and recognitions for his work all around the world and decided to exhibit some of them in the gallery at this occasion.
