An exhibition of artworks on a theme ”Ethnological dresses and folklore dances of my people” by authors up to 20 years of age from the archive of The Gallery of Young People’s Art Works” was opened in the Turkish city of Gaziantep which has the population of two million people. The exhibition was opened by Mateja Mrak Thorne, the cultural attaché from the Slovene Embassy in Ankara and Dr. Asim Guzelbey, the Mayor of Gaziantep. The latter awarded the leader of The Gallery of Young People’s Art Works Mihailo Lišanin with a unique plaque for their 10 years of cooperation and promotion of the art culture of young people from Gaziantep and Turkey. In view of their cooperation so far and the need of Turkish integration in European processes, he also suggested that better relations are established between the cities of Gaziantep and Celje. Mihailo Lišanin also took part in the international jury for the 20th Turkish international competition of the city Gaziantep on invitation by Mizyal Karabiber Nacaroglu, an artist and future honorary consul of Slovenia in Turkey. They also visited the city of Alep in Syria with the population of four million some 250 km away where they discussed future tripartite cooperation.
