Award ceremony and exhibition opening of the XVIth International competition
We are happy to announce that the first part of the award ceremony and exhibition opening for the Celje’s Gallery of Young People’s Art Works’ and World of Art’s 16th International competition for authors up to 20 years of age on the theme “ Ethnological dresses and folklore dances of my people” for award winners from Europe, was successfully carried out on the 13th of May 2011 at the Metropol City Cinema and that the exhibition is now set up in the Gallery of Young People’s Art Works Celje in Celjski dom. The second part of the award ceremony and exhibition opening for award winners from other continents will take place on Monday the 30th of May 2011 at Trabzon Güzel Sanatlar Galerisi in Trabzon at the Black Sea coastline. It will be the first time in the history of International competitions for young people that the conclusion ceremony will be organized in two countries, even more, two continents. Furthermore, the first presentation of this year’s competition awarded artworks selection was set up in the beginning of April at the Hong Kong Festival of Youth, organized by Plaza Hollywood and Henry Lau, the founder of Simply Art Artschool. As it was the case in previous years and this year also, the President of Republic of Slovenia Dr. Danilo Danilo Türk accepted the honorary sponsorship of the ceremony in Celje. The dancers of the Dance Forum Celje on the choreography of Goga Stefanović, which are this year celebrating their 35 years of appearing on Slovene and international dance scene, performed in the cultural programme, accompanied by Elementary School Lava’s pupils, guided by their principal Mgr. Marijana Kolenko. In spite of the world economic crisis, the award winners from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Romania attended the ceremony in Celje. Award winners from Azerbaijan, India, Russia and Iran have already notified us of their participation at the award ceremony in Turkey. To both Trabzon and Hong Kong ceremonies, Mihailo Lišanin, the founder and leader of this competition was invited as an honorary guest of the event. The Trabzon exhibition will be opened by the Ambassador of the Republic Slovenia in Turkey.
